What UCD campus lacks in squirrels, it makes up for in hooded crows. Yesterday by the lake, I watched one of them delicately unfold a chocolate wrapper to reach the last few crumbs, shout at a man when the object he retrieved from his bag was not food but a macbook, and steal a packet of crisps from someone who’d unwisely left it right next to him on the bench. Hooded crows are not to be underestimated.
