TEDx Dublin

15 June, 2009

Q. What do nerds do on a Friday night?

A. Go to TEDx Dublin.

As is the standard for TED, the talks were short, varied and impressive. Should I ever wish to implement augmented reality, separate sounds in a recording, create a 3D image from photographs, use a handy wall/person/limb for mobile computing or build a robot gecko, I’ll know where to start. The number of people blogging and tweeting throughout the event was also amusing. The event was organised (via Twitter!) by my lecturer Aaron Quigley.

I also met Charlie’s friend Eoghan, who was worrying about the apocalypse but was distracted by the possibility of icecream lasagne*. Ah, nerds.

* Icecream spaghetti exists, so why not?
