Rabbit rabbit rabbit rabbit

No doubt the University of Victoria is famous for many worthy things. However, if you ask the locals about it, they’ll tell you that actually UVic is famous for rabbits.

A few years ago, the Midlands had a plague of rabbits. They were uniformly small, brown, cute and ravenously hungry. I assumed that the UVic rabbits would be the same, but no.

It's amazing there's any grass left.

It's a hot day, they stick to the shade.

These are not wild rabbits. These are feral pet rabbits. They’re huge, they’re multicoloured, and they’re everywhere, and there’s an ongoing debate on how to deal with them and the damage they’re causing on campus.
